Within the village there is a village store / newsagents / post office which is open seven days a week.

There are two pubs The Swan and The Angel. The Angel has a restaurant and serves food each lunchtime and evening.

Within walking distance is the Crab and Lobster pub/restaurant again with food seven days a week although you will need to book in advance to guarantee a table.

There are many further village pubs in the area serving good quality food.

Topcliffe Mill is situated approximate 6 miles from Thirsk and 7 miles from Ripon. Both towns have pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, and newsagents. Although it is considerably quicker to get to Thirsk.

There are two petrol stations on the A168 approximately 2 miles north of Topcliffe one of which is 24 hours.
